There has been a rule of thumb estimate (is that a tautology?) that based on having 400 trees per ha (160 per acre) you shouldn’t expect any change from $30,000/ha or $12,000/acre for the set-up, . This include fencing and irrigation. This price will come down to the degree you do work yourself – however costs will still be at least $15,000/ha even for the most industrious person.
The Profit and Loss spreadsheet will collect all your inputs and is a good checklist.
